My 74 Duster 318 kept leaking oil, finally saw it was at dipstick at front of block, when i pulled dipstick out, part of the tube came out with dipstick, it broke flush at the block, can.t even get needle nose on end of what's left, several videos on you tube shows threading tube and then put a long bolt thru something like a socket big enough for tube to come up into socket as you screw a bolt into threaded piece of tube, my problem is with this , what about all the filing going into the oil while cutting new threads, has anyone else had this problem ,or a suggestion that would be better ?

I have gotten those out with a 1/4 lag bolt before.
They are not usually in there tight.

You could try an ez out, maybe a bit of heat on the block first

I greased the tap, caught most of the filings. A piece of all-thread a pipe and a washer and a nut to pull it.
Another time i used a trim tool to get a bite under the edge of the bubble and pried it out.
Or drop pan and knock it out from the bottom.
