direct swap rear end

i have a '66 valiant that i'd would like to make into a "go fast ride" what year rear ends will interchange with the old one? at this time i have a 318 with a 904 trans. that i would like to install in the engine bay. thanks

i believe any abody rear will interchange with yours, 8 1/4, or the more popular 8 3/4. it will be quite a deal sqeezing that 318 into ur 66 good luck, if your going to do the swap to v8(i am guessing) why not go bigger :thumblef:

318 should go in pretty easy with the right manifolds or headers.
You will spend a lot less on a junkyard 8-1/4 out of a 73-up a body than trying to find an 8-3/4 at a junkyard. Check the for sale section here, sometimes there are direct bolt ins reasonable.
