[FONT=&quot]A Swiss guy, looking for directions, pulls up at a bus stop where
Two Americans are waiting.

"Entschuldigung, koennen Sie Deutsch sprechen?" he asks.

The two Americans just stare at him.

"Excusez-moi, parlez vous Francais?" he tries.

The two continue to stare.

"Parlare Italiano?" No response.

"Hablan ustedes Espanol?" Still nothing.

The Swiss guy drives off, extremely disgusted.

The first American turns to the second and says, "Y'know, maybe we
Should learn a foreign language."

"Why?" says the other. "That guy knew four languages, and it didn't
Do him any good."

That's funny!

Reminds me of the shop foreman at a place I worked at years ago. He was in the Engineering Dept. one day and as a joke we asked him if he understood the metric system. He said, "Screw the metric system! Let the rest of the world learn inches."

Of course he was the same guy we asked one day, "How many 'thousandths' are in an inch?"
He thought for a while and then replied, "Man, they're so small. There must be millions of 'em."

...and he was in charge of making sure all of production ran correctly!

That's funny right there. A guy that speaks 2 languages is bilingual. What do you call someone who only speaks English? An American!:usa2:
