In my line of work, I don't care if you're black, white, purple or polka dotted. Man, woman, or somewhere in between. What matters is integrity, and can you DO THE JOB. Can I rely on you to have my back with the ish hits the fan? Can you perform your tasks proficiently? Do you have self accountability and strong character?
Too many professions these days are just trying to "check boxes" and have forgotten they have a service to provide. Whether you're working on an oil rig or at the mine or at the fire department, if you put an *** in a seat, they better be able to perform.
