I switched my drum brakes out on my 70 duster with a disc brake setup out of my 74 dart. I changed the upper and lower ball joints as required. But, now, the whole thing is out of whack. One wheel points in, one out. The inner tie rod ends hit the torsion bar. What is going on? Is there other things that need to be changed?

Do you a pic of the tie rod interference with the torsion bar ?

Its kind of hard to quess what might be wrong without seeing it.

This might sound like a dumb question, but when connecting the outer tie rod, the stud comes up through the balljoint/control arm from the bottom. You dont have it going down from the top do you ?
Cant think of anything else that would raise your tierod so its hitting the torsion bar.

Try to post a pic if you can.

As far as one wheel pointing out and one pointing in, its not uncommon to have to redo the toe-in adjustment after swapping lower ball joints from one early type to later type. And did you use the tierods/ends from the 74. Or if you screwed either the inner or outer tie rod ends into or out of the sleeve at any point during the swap this would screw up your tow adjustment.

Good luck
