Disc brake parts?

I'm a total noob, at disc brakes. Have two questions.
1. Which direction does the seal go in?
2. Found these clips, in the box with the pads. What are they? How used?

The seal will only go in one way.

Those are anti rattle clips, looks like Chebby to me though.

Yeah - a little more info needed. Application. Pics of pads, caliper assembly... Regardless , The lumpy clip looks like one that goes on the back of the inboard pad and the humps position it in the caliper piston. Not sure on the flat ones - but look like a shim.

This is a kit I got to mount with the Alter-K installation. And yes, they are GM calipers. Have to wait on the pix. Grand daughter borrowed my cam.
