Shot a video discussing tips and recommendations for someone working on their convertible top system. I just replaced the hydraulic cylinders and hoses on my 1968 Dodge Dart GT vert and covered a few questions most folks have when doing the same. Hope this helps another member with their car!

Feel free to reach out with any questions or requested photos of the system. Always happy to help .

Great video.

The routing does make a difference though and it keeps things from getting pinched.

The bottom hose should point up to prevent kinking

A friend and I are going to attempt to install his convertible top on a 67 Barracuda. He gave me a pointer on removing the top mechanism from the car. He removed his whole which tweaked it a bit. He said if he had to do it again he would have removed all the center bows and the front windshield header first and then the side mechanisms separately. The mechanism is now painted and back on the car again and we want to try doing the top ourselves.

My pump is low on fluid. There is a tight fitting filler plug on the pump I don't want to tear removing. Any tips or replacement sources if it goes south? Also found out the pump is zip tied to the bracket, so I'm looking for the rubber isolators. Any help greatly appreciated. BTW thanks for the great video. Saw it on youtube before I knew you were a member here.

There are several online convertible top sites. I believe classic industries has the pump, hoses and cylinders. Start there to get part numbers then look elsewhere for a better price.

I have seen a pump rebuild video on youtube.
