Have a custom ground comp solid flat tappit .526/.538 lift 248/250 duration @ .050 Like new only break in time on it w the #ed lifters. Would like to trade for a XE282S. My engine is a little higher in comp. then I originaly planned and this cam will produce around 8.9:1 DCR in my engine. This is perfect for a 10:1 engine. Mine is closer to 10.6:1 trying to get my DCR down to 8.5:1 so I wont have any issues w/ pump gas. Im going to give it a shot and see how the girl runs. Im hoping w the short stroke and 185 cranking pressure it will be fine on pump gas.

This cam will have you at 8:5:1.... it has a 67 ABDC. I used the cam with 10.9 compression and ran 91 octane with magnum heads and in CA. FYI

It will have me a little lower then 8.5:1 DCR but better then 8.9:1. My cam is 54 ABCD centerlined @ 110 witch would be perfect for a 9.8-10:1 engine putting the DCR around 8.5:1

I was going off the 10.6 you had in the original post. But if you have another cam already then...:eek:ops:

The cam i have is the custom ground .526/.538 248/250 @ .050 54 ABCD centerlined @ 110 My engine is 10.6:1 Static comp. putting my DCR @ 8.9:1 w this cam. Thats why im looking to trade for a XE282S witch is the 67 ABCD lowering my DCR to where I need it in order to run pump gas. The custom ground was ground for a 10:1 engine

OH trade FOR a 282s I thought you were getting rid of the 282s. Sorry

You had me confused for a second. LOL!!! I think the XE282S would be perfect for this engine. I may be able to get away w my cam if i run it a little retarded and tighten the lash a little, but ideally the 282s would be better. My cam is great for a 10:1 engine. Hoping someone is lacking the compression for the 282s and will want to trade.

Yes i agree! I sold one awhile ago, but now im going stroker with a Custom cam from Brian IMM that will have my DCR at 8.8 but he said it will run 91 with magnum heads. LETS HOPE SO!!

If thats the case I wonder if 8.9 DCR w aluminum heads and 185 cranking pressure would be fine on 91? Save me alot of hastle.

I would talk to Brian at IMM engines. he is in CA but if you call him he will help you and more and likely tell you it should especially if your above sea level and the higher up the better
