Ok fellas, I put #1 at TDC and made sure the slot on the oil pump drive gear was running parallel with the cam. Does this look right?

Actually Wes, I've always preferred to bring the No. 1 plug wire out on the top of the distributor. Otherwise you have to bring the wire around the bottom of the Dissy and over to the No. 1 plug this way it also allows ya to take 3, 5 and 7 out over the top instead of the bottom of the distributor. Like the guys say make sure that you're at TDC No. 1 and in your case just lift your distributor out turn the shaft 180 degrees and back in. You can see No. 1 on mine is at 11:00 o'clock if you're viewing the cap head on. Right now you've got your No. 1 at 5:00 o'clock and oh yea, I like your choice of water pumps.

I was a bit nervous about the aluminum housing, makes me feel better someone else is using it. lol

Wes, as far as that aluminum housing is concerned you just shaved 8 pounds off the engine instead of using the cast iron anchor. Also make sure you flush the entire pump with water before installing it for good. I found little tiny aluminum flakes in mine from the machining process no doubt and try to use cadmium plated flat washers under the bolt heads that you use to bolt the housing to the engine. This will keep the aluminum from galling.
Also, when you install your hose fittings into the top of the pump don't use teflon tape on the threads, use liquid teflon like Swak. Teflon tape on the tapered thread of the fitting will cause a ton of force as it tries to spread the threaded aluminum hole and you could crack the housing.
