so basically, I am curious if anyone has made their own front and rear bumper fillers. if so, how did you do it? how hard was it? how did it turn out? I want to make simple ones out of metal, but I don't want them to look terrible. any advice would help. thanks!

I'd like to know what to do to refurb them, either paint them with flexible rubber bumper stuff(?) or use something on them to soften them up and reinstall plain. Would like to ditch them altogether with 74 and back bumpers but not sure if the mounting points are still there for 75 and 76 (?).

In some cases, the earlier bumpers can be made to fit with a little bit of fab work.
In my 74 Frankenduster, I made brackets to attach the traditional NON shock type bumpers.
