For those who like to take a DIY approach or save some bucks, I have some Schumacher headers that started as plain steel.
Years ago I applied a coating called ColorGard from Techline. Was never really impressed with how it looked and ultimately the finish got damaged. So this time I tried Cerakote Chromex - which is a DIY ceramic coating. Below is a before and after of the material as applied and baked (500*) and later polished.
Access to a vibratory tumbler would be nice but you see what can be done with a buffing wheel. Used a DA sander in places before buffing.
