'71 Dart GT Fan
So today I was able to get out to the garage for a few minutes (getting old and feeble sucks).
As a summary, the rear of the car is up on jack stands under the rear axle.
I put the transmission in Neutral and rotated the passenger side wheel in the forward direction. The driver side wheel follows in the same forward direction at the same rate of speed.
I then put the transmission in Drive and repeated the procedure and got the same results.
Finally I put the transmission in Park and tried to rotate the passenger side wheel in the forward direction. The parking pawl lever said "no, not going to move" (as expected).
Therefore I'm convinced it is a sure-grip. Now I have to wait until the end of March before my buddy/mechanic has time to rebuild it.
