Asa what body parts are you wanting to use fiberglass panels for?

Any that can be swaped out in case of a Lucy incident lol

I just ran across it when looking at glass panels for my truck

I would rather use steel. Asa get in touch with Rick here and he can help set you up. I know it will be a while before you can,he goes by Rick@layson here is his user name.

Bill there was no Barracuda's in 62. What is the guy on?

He doesn't remember and that is where you can pick up some bargins.

Lol, I have one of the best rechromed bumpers you will ever lay your eyes on that a guy listed on eBay as a 1962 Barracuda bumper when it was a 1967 through 1969 bumper. It was chromed many many years ago when the process was old style. He didn't remember the year so I got it cheap ($60 plus shipping) because no one else found it. I sure would like to find another one because my $300+ rechromed bumper doesn't hold a candle to it.

I will need my bumpers on my Charger rechome in the future and my Doba too

dang bill there are parts all over for that car.

the metal asa has looks fine . maybe a little patch or two. his car just needs a sander taken to it

All those are around and this is Janurary. There is always more of them around when it gets warmer.

His style of Barracuda hasn't seen the price jump like the 67 to 69 Barracudas have but it will come. When I started on the 67 to 69s they were around everywhere because there was no demand but that has changed now and so will the earlier ones in the future.

it will happen eventually. theres a dude here already trying to get 350-400 for a beat up 65 grill. nows the time to collect good trim parts

That is where I would start because the rust is more important to worry about than rubber boots.

same here. i would pull the trim , mask the glass and go to town sanding it first, then get a fresh coat of epoxy primer on it.

Why glass? Because it weighs less and tilt front end looks far cooler than a normal front. I only posted it though because I thought he might like to know that the glass panels are out there

Mopars are the hardest cars to do a tilt front end. You have to have your math right to build the frame rails without the inner fenders. If you leave the inner fenders it just looks dumb. It can be done but not easily.

Why not glass? Money.... Oversize shipping costs.... Car is worth more with OEM metal.... Asa has decent metal if he doesn't let it go to hell and right now there are OEM parts around that can be owned fairly cheap.

All good points, but I prefer to shave weight wherever possible.

That looks awesome! No it's not easy with any kind of vehicle. I was telling dartt in another thread, I've seen people make the front end slide forward a couple inches before it tilts. Kind of like the 90 Buick regal for example

You are not going to save weight by going to a fiberglass tilt front end. By the time you brace up the frame rails and support it so it doesn't collapse on itself you will be adding weight. Tilt fronts are best used on full frame cars like Chevys.

That's true, but they still have the cool factor!
