Dodge Demon/Sport

I think its time to post a thread about my 75 Dart Sport/Demon project my good friend Harold and I have been putting together. The car started out life as a plane Jane Dart Sport with a 225/auto with power steering and a/c in powder blue with blue interior. Now its going to get a bunch of parts switched around thanks to my daily driver 72 Dart Custom 318/auto.

First off the front clip was traded between the cars, (I actually like the beak front ends, but the 71/72 front end on the Dart Custom was just begging to be switched on to a two door).

Next the engine/trans/k frame was pulled from both cars and the Custom got all the 6 cylinder stuff. It now runs like a top again and continues to be my driver until the Sport is up and running..

So the plan is to have a Demon/Sport with a mild 318 that is reliable enough to use as a daily driver.

Thanks Keith! Its been keeping me busy for sure, lots of cleaning/painting parts. The Demon/Sport is getting a new polyurethane front suspension too while its all apart.

That is a good looking slant six...... at least that one don't have a dumb looking flex hose.

That is a good looking radiator hose too

I really like the way that Dart Sports look from the back with all of the chrome around and between the tail lights. The first picture is what I think I will be shooting for for the back. Planning to get a Direct connection spoiler for the rear. The next picture is what the front will look like after the swap is complete. The car will be staying Powder Blue with blue interior.

The 318 is all painted and almost ready to be installed, as well as the K frame and front suspension. It will be basically stock except for the eddy 4 barrel intake, headers, and 2.5 inch exhaust.. More pics to come!

I think the Demon/Sport is a good looking breed. I like resto/mods they change things up a bit.

Nice looking car! Great work so far. I like that you painted the engine 72 orange instead of 75 Blue. The front end is a 72 so that looks good. Good luck with the rest of the car and keep the pics coming.

Drove the car for the first time yesterday to the local carshow. Still a few bugs to work out, brake lights don't work for some weird reason.. Other then that the car drives great.

Looking great, nice work! I too like the 75 Dart Sport treatment between the taillights, and the 72 front end is, IMO, much nicer than the 75. Great combination.

Thanks, the car seems to drive great for a car that's been sitting for 15 or so years. Figured out the brake light/flasher issue with a few loose/crispy wires under the dash.
