Has any ever done this job I gotta replace them on my dodge I have done some research on it and the passenger side seal in the middle of the tube at the intermediate shaft. They make a special tool for it but it's very expensive I was thinking about making a tool from some thread all and a 2 inch washer. Anyone have any better ideas?

Instead of using a washer on your threaded rod use a bearing/race driver that fits the seal.

I don't have one of those I will look and try to find some affordable ones. I thought about using the end of my cam bearing tool but I'm afraid it will damage the rubber part of the seal

Checkout Wahlstrom Machine. They sell an install tool for like $85 and it works well. It presses the seal in from the inside of the CAD space.
If you're into Benchrest competition, they also sell front rests with adjustable uppers. Those are pricey, like all good front rests are.

I had a tool man make me the seal installation tool that I borrowed from the local Dodge dealership!!

I actually looked at that tool from them I think that's a little high for what it is.

This 1 is actually brand new. I ended up with 2 cause I lent mine out and didn’t think I was ever gonna get it back. But it finally came home. I use a nut and a bearing from a power steering pulley remover/installer, makes for a smooth install. Kim

Does the seal go on the flat end piece or the longer one pictured? I found the kit like you have its expensive. I found just the disk for 20 If that is the piece the seal seats with i could buy that and use the thread all like i had planned

Hey @oldkimmer can you give me the part number on the end piece that actually holds the seal ? The one I got is the wrong size ! :BangHead:
