does any one know MOPAR's birthdate

kind of a trivial thing but I am curios when did chrysler start using the brand MOPAR??? i thought it was in the early 60's but a friend of mine pulled a dash out of a 51 chrysler and the bottom of the radio had mopar stamped on it. does any one know ???

Can't say for certain sure which year, but the parts division got that name in the 30s.
