Does anyone use Green Dot/Money Pack? I am OK with the initial $4.95 but do they need all my personal information and can I add additional money to the card later?

I have used them before. To register the card in the MoneyPak, you have to give them all of your personal information. And I do mean ALL of your personal information. Name, address, phone #, ss#, etc. The reason for this is because once you have activated the MoneyPak, they will send you a card with your name on it. Any balance left on the one in the MoneyPak will be transferred over to your new card when you activate it. You can also add money to the card with your name on it, whereas you can't with the one in the MoneyPak.
Instead of the MoneyPak, have you looked into Bluebird through American Express? You can find it at Wal-Mart. My wife and I did some research, and it seems to be a much better deal. Entirely up to you of course, just my $.02.
