Hi, I just wanted to see if you guys see anything odd about the engine. The rocker arms look to be off center which is something I am not sure about. It is (supposedly) a 1974 318 and I am in the process of swapping the old intake and 2bbl for an edelbrock performer intake and 4bbl. I would also like to know if it is a marine engine or just a normal small block and how to tell the difference between the two. Thanks in advance for the help. :newb:

Looks normal to me from what I see...... The valve train looks normal to me....

Mopar Engines 8th edition: "To identify the right and left rocker arms for the A engine, the left rocker arm's pushrod socket is aproximatley 1/16 inch to the left, and the right rocker arm's pushrod socket is approximatley 1/16 inch to the right."
So according to this the dimples are outboard, yours are correct. As you can see even in this pic he has a few wrong.... look on lower head.

I would recommend putting on a right side valve cover, intake manifold, and carb on it. It will run better that way.
