Looks like someone cranked on it really hard with a dry and stuck window.
I have never seen a factory bend like that on any of them.
You could straighten it, but you will probably need to reinforce it for stiffness afterwards.

No the bend that’s right by the spring assist should not be there. Kinda hard to see it well in the pic provided

i straightened out the bend, but its still doing it. I think there should be a step in it so I'm just going to look for another used one. thanks everyone

Keep the old one for parts. I had 2 mangled fastback ones I got with a pile of parts. I kept the rollers, coiled springs, and drilled off the rivets holding the g crank handle gear assemblies on, and kept those with the bronse bushings as well. You never know when your going to need any of that stuff, and it stores in such a small box it's worth it to keep it.
