Dont laugh at me!!! with my rookie tuning :(

Yes- again, Rotor should point just like that. At the same time the oil pump shaft (gear) slot should point at the left front intake manifold bolt on drivers side, and piston should be at TDC on compression stroke.

So i had it wrong again ? And i have to replace it ....but the metal part was pointing at the firewall and the bigger plastic part was directly pointing at #1...i thought it was backwards

Some says poiting in the middle...and other images says cyl #1...

Right from my Chrysler Service Manuel (1974) and from a Rebuild Manuel for LA engines, it's the Left Front (drivers side) intake manifold bolt that the oil pump shaft (gear) slot should point at.

Watch this please. The slot isn't what's important. It's the rotor and where it's pointing if you are trying to line up to #1. Not all distributors have the tang and rotor facing the same direction.

318willrun is right. Not all Distributors will line up right. If yours doesn't line up right, you can either get a Distributor that is clocked properly or do what 318willrun is saying.

Read post #5. Keep reading it until you understand it......
Many others should read post #5 as well.....

Just a reminder. When you get done tearing you engine apart and putting it back together and if it still runs like crap change the condenser.
