Just a Public Service Announcement:
We all know that fuel expands, as it gets warmer. (I remember something about people actually getting more fuel when it is cold in the newspaper recently because it is metered by volume.)
Anyway, the point is that I filled up one of my cars that I don’t drive everyday and parked it in the unheated “barn”. I didn’t think about the changing weather season. The temp swings pretty good these days. And the fuel expanded out of the filler neck when the weather warmed and seeped down the side of the car and soaked the paint causing it to soften and blister.
It is enamel and not painted recently but it still damaged the paint. (Y3)
Fortunately this car is not metallic and not base coat/clear coat. And I can touch up the panel and blend it pretty easily.
Be aware.

Seen this happen at a show last year on an old 50s pickup, sitting out in the sun all day.It was flowing out fast!
