ok i think im in the right forum for this but when i bought my 76 duster my door shut smoothly and all the way last week it randomly stopped shutting. it closes, latches, and locks but wont shut all the way. i noticed my stripe is off so i tried lifting the door to see if it was out of alignment but that didnt fix anything.

Grab a buddy, open the door up have him move it while you look at hinges. One or both are more than likely worn. If not bad you can repair if too far gone there are reproductions out there. Very common issue. Usually drivers side goes first because it gets operated more often.

Agree with Dubob; probably hinges. I rebuilt the hinges on my 69 Barracuda about 2 years ago with a kit that had new pins and bushings. It was kind of a pain, but not too hard. Factory tight now.

I have a complete set of hinges blasted and primed for $40 plus the ride.
Also chk the striker post to see if its solid.
