I can't believe I just realized(thanks to my wife) my 35 year ownership of a '69 Barracuda convertible revealed the drivers door handle has black button, and the passenger side handle has a chrome button!

Can the button be easily replaced if I found a chrome one? If so, anybody have one, or a drivers handle with a chrome button? Got to keep the wife happy!

Thanks for any help.

<LOL>. I think the buttons are interchangeable, but there are some things to look out for. This style handle was used on many Mopars over many years. The internal parts which screw to the back of the button are different for some models. For Barracudas, I believe the chrome button was 67 only and the black button was 68-69. I think the door lock mechanism is different for each year of Barracuda (!). You can buy repro handles with both chrome and black buttons. I would just check the one you have first before buying anything to make sure it is compatible, since you obviously have at least one non-original part. I mention all this because I actually have a spare chrome button handle, but when I tried to use it on my 67 fastback, the button was different and I couldn't make the latch work. I just put it aside until I had time to figure it out.
