I just ordered a set of ceramic coated D450's from Autozone. The discount code is CMSAVE25. I tried it to see if it works on the raw steel version, and it does! That's $585 shipped for the raw steel ones, if someone wants them that way. I just went on and ponied up for the ceramic coated ones since I don't have time to fool with hauling them to Calico Coatings to get them done. I would imagine the code works on any style Dougs Header set you would want.
Good deal! I hope it works out for you, when I ordered mine from AutoZone they were perpetually out of stock. Order went through and everything but never got any shipping information. A month later I had Summit price match AutoZone.
Thanks Dan. They said "In stock", so I'll cross my fingers! I'll keep the Summit Racing thing in mind if it doesn't work out.
$841 including tax. It was a wash on the price of the raw ones, then having to take them to Calico to be coated. I would have gotten a better coating job at Calico, but just don't have time to fool with it for a while.
My mistake, now see you were looking at 450s, heres the info for the 453s take off 25 for their cyber deal, 456.00 Doug's Headers D453-R take off 50 for their cyber deal, 623.00 Doug's Headers D453
I hope it works out, but I tried it about 4 months ago 20% off autozone and order went through then 2 days later they cancelled my order as they were unavailable or something like that. Ended up getting them 10% off at summit.
When I filled out the 'make sure this fits your vehicle', it said that the D453's wouldn't fit my '74 Duster. In fact, they had no Doug's headers that would fit.
I bought my coated Doug's headers from autozone a few years back. First try they cancelled my order. Tried a few months later and they shipped them out. Best price on them I could find.
I've got the d453 headers on my 74 duster. I've got manual steering and they fit fine no dings or dents.
I contacted Dougs directly for my car, they said the 453s work, Summit did not, I hope that Summit is wrong
The D453’s work fine on a ‘74 there’s been a glitch with the compatibility list for a long time. I have them on my ‘74 Duster, they fit fine with my flaming river manual steering box and 833. And the T56 in there now. I bought mine from AutoZone, although that was a few years back now. Had no issues, sale went through and they shipped relatively fast. Not Summit fast, but they showed up pretty quick.
I got my Dougs from Autozone with the 20% discount about 4 years ago . At that time, it cost me about 380 shipped to my door for the raw ones. Sounds like they have gone up a bit in price. I chopped the flanges off and lost over a pound.
