going to build 440 base engine for car trying to get 800 H.P. suggestions on best parts to start with. A 440 out of a 1972 motorhome is that a good platform to start with ?

My brother has a built 440 he uses in his drag car (65 Coronet) Its pushing about 850 hp. Which according to his engine builder (Line Performance) is about the max that a stock 440 HP block can handle. Not to mention it cost him about 25k to build it.

Like stated if your serious, look at a aftermarket block or a very respected engine builder
