Drag Shocks

I called my buddy at The Chrysler dealership today and looked up drag shocks. He pulled A body shocks and it said they were listed as only being for an automatic car. The thing I don't understand is how the rear shocks would be effected with an auto or manual tranny. Has anyone used these shocks with a 4 speed car or have any insight for me? Also how much longer are a body versus E/B body because Jegs has B/E body drag shocks for only 32 dollars right now.
