Replacing the driver side remote mirror on my 74 Duster and noticed that the door panel seems to have a raised spot where the mirror stud goes through the skin. The raised spot looks like it could have been stamped into the door panel when new or it could be from over tightening the mirror. I'm trying to determine if this raised spot is normal or is there something else going on? I looked at an image of a new door skin from AMD and it looks like the surface is flat and I seen some images of used doors and they have the raised area. I thought maybe dusters that came with remote driver side mirrors has the raised area to accommodate the cable but just not sure. Anyone out there know for sure, if so, please advise.
