My cuda originally had a 904 with a 7 1/4 differential. I've changed to an A833 with an 8 3/4.

Will my original driveshaft interchange with this new combo, length wise?

Absolutely not. The 833 and 727 share the same installed length, which is longer then the 904. Also the 8 3/4 yoke has a different dimension than the 7 1/4 so in the end result you will need a shorter drive shaft.

no no no

A body 4 spd's are the same length as 904 auto's, however the slip yolk on an a body 4 spd is the larger 727 auto type, depending upon what year, say if it's really early slip yolk style..some will argue that it could have the smaller 904 slip yolk.fyi

Now the 8 3/4 will need a shorter drive line than one from a 7 1/4, if going into the same car as the 7 1/4 was.

I thought the 904 and 833 used the same drive shaft becuase they were the same length but the 727 was longer?

Ya know, that's right, the A body trans has a shorter tail housing. I got B body on the brain I guess. Sorry.
