Driveshaft, aluminum vs. steel?

I'm ordering a new one on monday and i'm not sure which way to go.
 
You usually have to go with a bigger shaft when going to Alumn. Its lighter, so it might help acceleration a little.
 
It's more than half the weight of stl, it's a big improvement.

You don't have to go to a larger shaft in AL, but even the larger shaft in AL is half the weight of stl.

This car is a 3" AL shaft, it 60's in 1.2 , it is not a gutted race car.

This shaft has been apart of this car for the last 12 years
