1973 Dart/ 318/ A904/ 8 1/4 suregrip rear:
When I hit 55 MPH there is a shrill whine from the drivetrain. It only happens at 55 MPH. It is quiet up to 55 MPH and goes away at just under 60 MPH. If I hold at 55 MPH the whine will go away after about five seconds or so. If I accellerate hard past 55 or 60 MPH sometimes there is no noise. If I gradually accellerate the noise is at it's worst.
It seems to be coming from the rearend, but I know the source of these noises can be anywhere and travel right through to the rearend.
Any ideas?
