durango rear

Depends which year it is. Some of the earlier V6 and 5.2L 2wd D'gos were 8.25" units.

I have an 02 Durango and it has the 3.55:1 9.25" rear. The 3.9:1 ratio is actually in an 8.25" rear NOT 9.25". Axles are the C clip type and the sure grip unit is a two pinion that looks like some of the later Dana types, you know, the kind that look like an open carrier. Also Durangos are 6 lug and I believe the pattern is 4.5" on 6. The axle bearings are cylindrical roller and are pretty good size.

I think it was 2000 or 2001 that they stopped using 8.25s altogether. The bolt pattern on the 6 lugs is the same as the Vipers. :-D

Of course we are assuming that he is not talking about a newer D'go...in which case it is definitely a 9.25, but most likely disc brake and it will have a 5x5.5 lug pattern like the Rams.
