Duster Windshield Install

I need pointers on how to install a windshield on my '71 Duster. Should I put adhesive inside the windshield seal channel to hold the glass? Should adhesive go outside the seal against the window frame? I only want to do this once and have no leaks. I really need to hear from someone who's actually done it before.

IMO - this is one job left for the professional. The guy that did my install has been back about 5 times to stop the leaks, and needs to make another trip. He says he don't mind, but still...
