Awe come on we need numbers. There are guys in Florida rolling their eyes at you right now.
But the guys in Minnesoooooooota are say'n "don't blame ya one bit!!"
93* and chance of rain means high humidity and a heat index close to 100. Not fun, and when the funs gone so am I. Next weekend!! :)

As people I know continue to melt shifter cables or get them pinched... issues, ... i think I'll stick to linkage in my manual valve body. But not because of their problems.. but because it's cheaper LOL

i like your setup.. .why spend money you don't need to and it's very cool.. did you remove the detent from 1-2?

Yeah whatever happened to the ten second for five grand pickup you were going to throw together? You made it sound so simple any jug head could do it.

Look'n for a fight, ehhh???? LOL

Never was a "10 second truck for 5 grand"... EVER ...but you didn't pay attention. We (as in me, my son, and my son-in-law) were going to by a 500 dollar 4 door car (diplomat??) and gut it to the max. Then put a warmed up 440 with converter and gears. I still believe I could do it, no issues. BUT, they backed out so me and my wife bought the truck... never once claimed the truck would go 10's .... EVER. :) Now, put it in you nogg'n and let it rest. :)

and OH !!!! Speaking of the truck, lookie what I posted TODAY !!!! :D And if ye want to see the ole' truck perform, skip to the 10:20 mark and CRANK the Volume !!! :) Use the head set and crank it if your old and hard hearing .... LOL :D

Looks like we (me, son, son-in-law) are going to make an attempt on this. Buy and build a car to go 10's on throttle on a 5,000 dollar budget (even a 10.99). Street car I might add. Sorry, it won't be an A-body because of pricing. Most likely will be a 4 door. Already bought some pieces. The journey should be a blast either way
For anyone that reads this garbage (above posts) and wonders what... here is #1 post from that thread. Notice it says "attempt" . And "4 door car". Nothing of what is claimed above - "so easy any jug head could do it" or "truck".

Good .... Bad .... and the Ugly. But all 3 were fun....
What worked... what didn't work... and where from here.
1.69 was my best 60 ft - which surprised me a lot !! 1.83 was previous best. Can I say a lot of down hill from there?? LOL
Best line is..... Less slow is the Goal.. and it went "less slow"

More later

1-1/2 10ths in the 60 foot is a bunch. That converter is doing its job.

Yes, I love the FTI converter. And it drives like a stock converter. However, I've never had a such a dysfunctional car at the track than what I dealt with today. It all was laughable, yet I somehow managed to make it to the Final in my class. I'll share more with a clear mind, trying not to mis-represent because in this case, the details matter

We definitely expect a full report from a clear head. Take your time, deep breaths and………………hurry up and type.

Yeah, i actually expected my converter to be a little loose when driving but i can't tell any difference unless i really get on it from a stop...

Daily drove a column shift rmvb for years. Column had modified stops in it. 1-2 was even, detent for third. So..... TAP down for 1-2. Tug to the driver and yank down for third.

All you had to remember was: if you pull looking for second, third gear is a distinct possibility.

We're waiting.
Ok, I'm not typing it all. It would be a book, and I hate reading. Not trying to make ya watch a video, but it's so much easier and faster to say it than to type it all.... But anyways, here it is...

....
but to those that just can't watch for all the personal reason.... 12.68 was what it ran
