I've got an '84 D100 with a 225, I want to put an '68 head on it (burnt valves) for a while. Will this be a problem with the hyd. lifters? Do I just need to retain the rockers from the '84?

You will need the Whole rocker assy and push rods from the late head. Make sure to keep everything in order including the mounting bolts. You may need to colapse the lifters a little before you install the pushrods or you may bend some on start up. I would leave the valve cover off and bump it over. Then start it and make sure its oiling good before putting the cover back on.
