I'd really like to replate the hold down latches on the '65 Convertible,

Do I take them apart? (and how?)

Anyone done theirs??

I know this is an old thread. Hope this helps somebody.

I took mine apart. You just drive the pins out with a drift punch, but be carefull to support the inner tabs before you start driving. I used a nut that was just the right height to slide in there. The nut transfers the force from the inner tab out to the outer housing. I've seen those tabs break off. Not sure how, but I think it would be easy to do.

I was having trouble with the pins moving sideways and interfering with the correct operation of the latch. I drilled the holes out and installed the next larger size pin. No problems since.

P.S. Nice looking dart you have there. It's an inspiration to me.
