for a 65 Dart, I'll be looking for the 1/2 round padded, rope (or whatever you call it) for around the window/door frames. Is this stuff available at a decent price somewhere? I'm looking to do a 2 dr. post car.

Also: gonna need headliner material. any suggestions? source, quality?
it the silver/grey color for a 65 dart.

It's called windlace, and I got mine from RockAuto a couple of months ago. for my 2 door it was $105, minus a 5% discount code (search the web, they always seem to have one available), plus $11.50 shipping ($111 total). That was the cheapest I could find. Lots of colors available.

looks like Metro parts. I saw it on exterior, seals. It looks like its a round profile, black rubber on one side, webbing onthe other side. correct? how many linear feet for 104?

Ford MAC catalog has windlace at 2.25 per foot. its 1/2 round, fully covered and has a cloth "tab" the full length for mounting.

How does the metro stuff attache? thanks
 
I always get my soft products from Jeff Deutchmann at Deutchmann Automotive out of Bowling Green, OH. Not only does he have early A's himself, but his items are typically priced $5-10.00 cheaper than everyone else. His number can be found in the Mopar Collector's Guide, or other Mopar publications. Good luck with the early A, Geof
 
The best price I got on black windlace was from J.C. Whitney. It included the gasket material. All I had to do was pull the ratty stuff off, cut, and press on the new stuff. (Measure twice, cut once) As I recall JCW did not, at the time, have any other colors.

Made to fit, correct material for a lot less than a local shop would make up a vinyl, bow type headliner. If you don't see what you like, call them. They do custom work.
