Had a problem with my '66 Valiant turn signals that may be of help to you in the future. The dash indicator quit working on left turns. Checked the lights and the right front turn signal was not coming on. Right rear turn signal worked fine and the dash indicator worked as well. Changed out the bulb and now all lights and indicators work as normal.
I know that later models with 2 dash indicators cause the indicator for the side with a bad bulb to stay on until the turn signal is canceled and the turn signal for that side doesn't work. Evidently the single indicator models lose the indicator on the opposite side from the bad bulb and the turn signals with good bulbs still work. Hope this helps somebody out.
