can anybody tell me why someone would machine these heads ? any help did i buy junk heads or are they still useable hope i didnot waste my money sorry best pictures i can take

Looks like someone had them machined or massaged them for rocker arms and/or shims/spacers. I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure whatever rockers you use will be properly aligned.
 
Okay, it looks like Edelbrock machined them for rocker/shim/spacer clearance. lol.

Oh, hey, another Colorado member, just noticed that. I'm in Colorado Springs.

Oh sorry, yes they are junk and I'll pay you scrap weight price for them RIGHT NOW!!:twisted: lol

Well, that's what I should've said first. lol
 
A decent head,needs to be checked(all aftermarket heads do!)Simply check the clearances:valve guide clearance,to valve.runout on the 45 seat. Mine were fairly good,for a stockie bolt on.If you want 500 Hp or more,head porting needed.
