There is nothing wrong with Standt stats & their opening/closing temps are more accurate than the hi-flow Robert Shaw/Milodon/Mr. Gasket stats, now Chinese made. The Chinese ones are easily recognisable: the three legged upper bridge is s/s. US made was brass.
A loose fitting stat is easily fixed with a blob of silicon on top of the stat rim, in 2-3 places.
