its a mr gasket 1932 adapter.
ive tried 2 holley carbs and both wont idle down.if i spray carb cleaner at the base of the adapter it revs so i know there is a leak.
it looks like the gaskets should be working because they seem to line up ok.
is there a better adapter to use?
i need to get this going.
what if i used the gaskets on the bottom and gooped the whole thing with good gasket sealer like the right stuff?
i dont think i would need to use it at the carb side.
this adapter plate bolts to the intake with cap screws and then has studs that comes up for the carb.
the intake flange looks nice and flat too.
im at a complete loss.
i bought this adapter at a local advance auto so i wasnt able to do any research on them before buying.

yes it looks flat..........i just came across this though.....it seems they have their own plate to use for squarebore carbs.
it looks like i dont have to use the 1 inch thick adapter.
i took an old edelbrock off of it and it had this plate under it.
the edelbrock had slightly larger secondaries so i thought it was a spreadbore carb but i guess its not.
ill try it again with just the plate and report back after this weekend.
