So the egr valve on my 318 intake blocks the linkage of my new carburetor, I am having a hell of a time finding a block off plate for it and don't have resources to make one. Any help finding one would be great.

We just make them now, really not tough at all, if you have ANY way to cut metal...

Yep, or for "quick and dirty" Take the EGR valve apart, clean it all up, and make a thin "sandwich" of a scrap of sheet metal, some silicone, and bolt the original plate back on without the valve.

Already started, lol last night I cut off the stamped steel part with tin snips, just so I could start it once, how thick of metal should I use for the new "gasket?"

We found out that we didn't need the egr on the 3.3L/3.8L in middle of production, and took it off.

First we blocked off the opening with a plate and gasket, until they made the changes to the parts to eliminate the opening all together.

If you have a parts guy look up the egr cover plate for the 3.3L/3.8L minivan engine sometime between 98 and 2000, it should come up and I think it's the same shape. Then all you have to do is buy the plate and gasket from the dealer....

Just called the local Chrysler dealer has two for 78-318 pickup
