Anyone know about an emergency ignition switch on these cars? Sorry I don't have a picture. But my '74 Duster has this box with a red button on it. It's in the rear of the engine bay near the ballast resistor and ECU. I have been told it is used to start the car if thre is an emergency. There appears to be no writing on it. I'm afraid to mess with it thinking it probably hasn't been used in a very long time.

Any info on this is appreciated. Thank

Very interesting, how exactly is this switch activated? There looks to be a red button then a red switch on the other side of the box. Lately I have been wiping out relays and this would be a simple/safer way to start the car if I am out someplace.

It has been 35 years since I messed with them. I do believe that the seat sensor wires under the 2 outboard seat positions can be disconnected to bypass the system.
