Engine oil smells gasoline

when you tested the cylinder pressure did you make sure to do the following?:

- make sure engine is warm
- disconnect power to the coil
- removed all spark plugs (easier on the starter)
- open the throttle blades (allows the piston to draw in a full cylinder of air on the down stroke)
- try to start for at least 3 seconds
- do the same on all 8 cylinders
- compare each cylinder, readings should be within 15% of each other

I only used a screwdriver to feel when it where on top. Not so accurate but I think it gave me a baseline for now. I only pressure tested one cylinder due to it was difficult to access the pressure gauge. I only tested when cold, disconnected power coil and cranked at least 3 seconds.
