Bad spark plug, plug wire, old worn rotor and/or dist. cap., over advanced timing, vacuum advance hooked up to direct vacuum, cracked vacuum hose. How long has it been since it was tuned up with GOOD parts?
A little history of your car would be a big help. i.e. what engine, how old is it, what, if anything, has been done to it lately?
