Engine VIN

Hey everyone, just joined. I recently got a '72 Scamp and want to check if the numbers match. I searched everywhere on the forum and have found a few possible locations. It has a 318 in it. For this year, would the VIN be on the passenger side of the engine near the oil pan?

Yep that's the spot, about mid way back on the pass side.
