1965 V200 Wagon With 273

Cant Seem To Figure Out The Engine Stamping On Block Below The Driver Cylinder Head. It Is Stamped
273 Then Farther Down It Look Like A Tiny: Bm
5
Then It Is Stamped 16 Does Anyone Out There Know These Stamps Or Should I Be Looking Somewhere Else To Figure Out Serial Number To See Id This Is A Matching Vehicle. I Would Appreciate Any Help.thanks
 
Don't think you will have any better luck looking somewhere else. Chrysler didn't put serial numbers on engines and such until 1968.
 
Actually, the numbers you found is the engine serial number. The engine serial number and the VIN number are often confused. In later years when Chrylser did start stamping the VIN number into blocks, the engines still had a seperate serial number.

For 1965 there is no way to know if your engine is original to the car by the numbers stamped in it.
