Yes you can do that and you could even put 5/16" or metric size valves in it if you like. I answered that no 340's ever came like that, referring to what the factory produced. That's what I thought you were asking. If it's aftermarket nearly anything can be used and no one here could possibly guess what you have but it's as simple as grabbing a dial caliper or micrometer and measuring your valve stems
