Epoxy vs standard 2 part urethane primer

Is standard primer still an option?
..seems like all you hear is Epoxy.

Epoxy is waterproof urethane primers are not. Lots of different stuff out there, depending if it's specified as direct to metal or not. If not it will need some type of etch prime first.

epoxy is the sealer...u still need the 2k for filling imperfections

u can spray the 2k over the epoxy "wet on wet" after about 40 min flash time

nope...it'll be fine...I do it all the time

Suggest that bodywork be completed before prepping surface for prime and top coats.

Not aware of two-stage primer. Two stage paint, color & clear coat, I know about.

u can do your filler work over top of the epoxy if u want...some do some dont

2k just means 2 part...if it was laquer primer it would be 1k and if it used primer, hardener and reducer it would be 3 k...2 stage means base/clear...if u had a pearl mid coat it would be 3 stage
