Factory A/C mix n match!?

Wondering if anyone knows whether you can mix 67 -72 under dash A/C vents with a 73-76 heater box? Question is driven by scarcity of parts! Thanks all!

The system was totally redesigned with all new parts for '73, and then modified again for '74. Interchange on the underdash vent between -'72 and '73- is no.
