Brought my good working radiator that was a 4 row to a radiator shop to swap the generic top tank to the numbers correct tank and during the switch over they called and said the core didn’t make it and has several leaks. They recommend a new high efficiency 3 row for about $1,000. My 4 core was about 24 years old but only 15k miles and did change the fluid a few times. Anyone running these high efficiency cores? I would rather not run an aluminum radiator , any other suggestions? Thanks

A couple years ago I purchased a complete radiator for my convertible from Glen-Ray for $1200, no core. It was the correct numbers for my car. If you are looking to have a numbers radiator I would recommend Glen-ray, they can do a high efficiency core in your original frame that is not aluminum. They are in Wisconsin not to far from you.

I 2nd (or 3rd?) the Glen-Ray suggestion. I recently got one from them with the "HD" or high efficiency cooling core and numbers matching for my 71 Demon. Bob is a great guy to deal with there!

What are you trying to cool?

Also back in the day if a tube or two were leaking they would just cut and solder them closed.

Side note. A few years ago I had a a rad rodded out, 500+ bucks US, BACK IN MY DAY..... it would have been 75 to 125.
